New VR owners are often surprised by the amount of time and money they have to budget to keep their rental stocked with consumables.
"Consumables" is a fancy word for stuff like laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, dish soap... basically anything at your rental that is replenished on a regular basis.
And replenish you must. OFTEN.
Something about being on vacation makes people double the amount of laundry detergent they use per load. And don't get me started on toilet paper, which seems to evaporate like a cloud the minute it touches down in the linen closet.
Good news, though: I've found a solution in Amazon Prime, a discount and delivery service for consumables. (Memberships to Amazon Prime cost approximately $85 annually but worth it because most times, shipping is free; truly just a lifesaving service that I want to share!)
While not vacation rental-centric, they have tons of VR-friendly products ranging from groceries (like the coffee, tea, and condiments you keep in your pantry) to household cleaners (including environmentally friendly options like Eco-Touch and Method) and bulk quantities of toilet paper.
If you are a member of Amazon Prime shipping is free and takes just 1-2 days, in most cases.
It completely eliminates waiting in line at the grocery store, lugging supersize toilet paper packages, or paying your housekeeping manager extra to do so. Simply ship the products you need right to your rental's front door. They'll arrive all at once.
Amazon often has good discounts, too, and you don't have to worry about the up charges you find at some urban grocery stores.
To make things even easier, Amazon lists all my past purchases with the option to add them right to my cart. Since my purchases almost always repeat themselves, everything I need is right there on one page.
